BENJAMIN HOWARD
the studio
We highly recommend Benjamin to any student or parent looking for an exceptional music teacher. Under his expert guidance, our son Rishab was able to master complex classical pieces and arias, showing significant progress that led to his qualification for the interstate choir. We are very happy with Benjamin Howard's method of teaching, which effectively caters to all age groups. - Rahul N, Texas

WELCOME TO THE STUDIO
teaching philosophy & experience
From opera, choral, and recital singing to musical theatre, folk rock, jazz, and film work, I've been blessed with a wide and colorful range of professional performing experiences. This varied background, along with great teachers at every stage of my career, have nurtured my artistry and enabled my musicianship to excel. My goal is to tailor these ideas and technical strategies to your musical needs, wants, and joys. A combination of body awareness, optimal resonance, and flexibility are the driving forces in my philosophy that allow students to not only reach their goals, but to surpass them--perhaps finding a new tier they never thought they could achieve. I have so much to pass on from what I've learned, and would love to share my insights, techniques, tips, and tricks with you! Sight-singing, music reading, vocal technique, and audition/performance prep at any age or level. In-person in the Greater NYC Area or remote is available.

I have trained at the University of North Texas (Master of Music: Voice Performance, 2017) and Northwestern University (Bachelor of Music: Voice and Opera; Music Theatre Certificate, 2014). In addition to teaching privately, I have taught at the Dallas Music Academy, Castle Hills Music Academy, Windy City Music Theatre, and Bruins on Broadway. I work as a professional singer in New York City--for a full bio, click here.
